Conservation Restrictions:
A conservation restriction, also known as a CR, is a voluntary agreement between a landowner and a conservation organization. Under a CR, a landowner gives up the right to develop his or her land while still retaining ownership of the property. Future owners of the land are also restricted to the same provisions. Essentially, a conservation restriction prevents the land from ever being developed or changed from hits restriction.
Upon the placement of a conservation restriction, the landowner is eligable for tax breaks and deductions.
